Yolanda Holden, a graduate of what is now known as the North-West University holding an honours degree in Communication, currently heads the Creative Services unit at the National Department of Education in Pretoria. The unit is responsible for, amongst others, managing corporate communications, advertising, language services, and the compilation, design and publishing of electronic and printed publications. Having worked in both the private and public sectors, Yolanda has gained extensive experience in the field of Communications and has a wealth of practical experience and qualifications, ranging from Project Management to photography, publication design, the evaluation of publications and creative writing. Her writings (both poetry and prose) have been published locally by the Poetry Institute of Africa and LitNet, as well as internationally by the International Library of Poetry in the USA and Noble House in the UK. Over and above some informal studies, she is currently completing her MA degree in Creative Writing at the University of Pretoria. She also has a passion for art, painting mainly fantasy themes and portraits.
