Henriette Wagener

Henriette Wagener is a director of Green Leaf Media. She obtained a degree in Communication at the University of the Free State. She has more than 20 yearsí communication experience in the private and public sectors. Her work history includes journalism, publishing, public relations and various other positions in the communication environment. Henriette managed to bridge the gap between traditional publications to electronic media and believes that the content of both these sectors should focus on effective communication.

Fanie Viljoen

Fanie Viljoen is a fulltime author and illustrator from Bloemfontein. After his first short story was in 1999, mnay stories and books followed. Today he is one of South Africaís most prominent authors of youth fiction ñ with 11 published. He has won several awards for his work.

Paul van der Merwe

Paul van der Merwe is a director of Green Leaf Media. He started his career as an IT specialist but then moved to design and printing. After two years in the United Kingdom working for companies such as Goldman Saks and Bearsterns, he decided to combine his IT and design and printing skills... the natural way to go was digital publishing. He established is own company (eMagSA), which later became Green Leaf Media. Paul has a passion for the environment and thus the company has a strong focus on green issues.

Ria van Zyl

Ria van Zyl was Package Manager of Information Design at the University of Pretoria till early 2008. Her position involved co-ordinatIon, management and development of course content for various subjects including Information Design, Design Studies, Professional Practice Management, Design and Production Management, and Visual Branding and Identity. Before this she practised as designer for 15 years. She started her career in 1985 in product co-ordination and design of gift and home ware ranges. After this she spent time at Woolworths, a South African retailer, in the capacity of Packaging Co-ordinator and Technologist before starting her own consultancy. She was co-owner and manager of Graphcom Design Studio cc and practised in Cape Town and Bloemfontein, specialising in corporate design and packaging. She completed her Masters Degree in Information Design at the University of Pretoria with a dissertation on developing a service quality framework for the graphic design industry. She is currently focusing on post graduate students as guest lecturer and supervisor, and plans to pursue her Doctoral studies in 2008. She published several articles and conference papers, and wrote a popular book in 2007 aimed at the SMME market and entrepreneur: Brand your business. Looks are important. This pocket guide is part of the?Be a Winner Pocket Books? series. A career highlight was the opportunity to be group leader in the 2005 ICSID Interdesign, held in Rustenburg, South Africa. Other community service projects included the training of various workshops for people with disabilities in the marketing and packaging of their products, as well as communication design for Community Partnership Programs. She regularly serves on advisory panels and professional bodies in South Africa.

Nico van Burick

After studying medicine for a brief period in 1975, Nico van Burick switched over to a career in journalism. Today he is probably the only journalist in the country with experience of industrial publications, national newspapers, national magazines, radio journalism, TV reporting and TV productions. In his career of more than 30 years he was editor of the Army Newspaper, Uniform, military correspondent for Die Transvaler, radio and TV reporter at the SABC, news editor at TV news, executive producer of the actuality programme, Agenda, general manager of an independant radio station, agricutural reporter at Beeld and these days news editor at Landbouweekblad.
In the early days he received the SA Association for Industrial Editors award for the best external newspaper. Then followed an Artes award for TV news reporting, a Star Tonight award for best magazinne programme and two John Deere awards for agricultural journalist of the year.
